Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare for work
   • Job requirements are determined from workplace instructions
   • Manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures are accessed and interpreted
   • Hazards associated with the work are identified and risks are managed
   • Tools and equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), are selected and checked for serviceability
   • Work is planned to minimise waste and use time efficiently
2. Remove head lining
   • Fittings are removed in preparation for removing head lining
   • Head lining is removed using vehicle manufacturer recommended tools, equipment and procedures
   • Activities are completed according to safety and environmental requirements and without causing damage to vehicle or components
3. Manufacture or repair head lining
   • Materials are selected according to workplace instructions and customer requirements
   • Manufacturing, repair and attachment methods are identified
   • Templates are produced from workplace instructions or head lining sample
   • Materials are measured, marked and cut according to workplace instructions
   • Head lining is manufactured or repaired according to workplace procedures and safety and environmental requirements
4. Replace head lining
   • Head lining is replaced using vehicle manufacturer recommended tools, equipment and procedures
   • Fittings are replaced after installing head lining according to safety and environmental requirements and without causing damage to vehicle or components
5. Complete work processes
   • Final inspection is made to ensure work meets workplace expectations and vehicle is presented ready for use
   • Work area is cleaned, waste and non-recyclable materials are disposed of, and recyclable material is collected and stored
   • Tools and equipment are checked, reported if faulty, and stored according to workplace procedures
   • Workplace documentation is processed according to workplace procedures

Performance Evidence

remove one vehicle head lining, in which the work must involve the following fittings:

door rubbers

manufacture or repair and then replace the above head lining.
